MaasSluis
Recorded in 2002

In 2002, Ivo Selder (percussion) and Matthew Florianz (synth), assisted by Stan Linders (keyboards/logistics) and Bill Brisette (guitar), made and album called Open Stage.

Central to the atmosphere and "sound" of the recordings is how it was achieved:

Powered by a car battery, Matthew Florianz's keyboards where amplified through a car radio with large speakers attached. The music playing to the temperature and time of day.
Ivo Selder's percussive sounds and loose drumming appearing and disappearing like the rythmic sound of passing freighter-ships, bow waves and overflying airplanes.

Some distance away, a microphone Records a blend of the music and open air setting.
Often assisted by Stan Linders on keyboards, the three have played on a beach, forest, under a dual carriageway overpass, near a swamp and numerous times at bank-marker 1015 near Maassluis.

This recording was also made near marker 1015, at sunset on a warm spring friday. The camera looks towards the southwest from the channels northern bank.
